Question of the Week #1 – Responses
OK, the polls closed on Friday and the responses to the Question of the week for last week are:
80% agree that the development of the CIQP certification will lead to increased/new opportunities for trainers in the IQ/DQ field.
20% disagree.
My personal view is that there is clear potential for new opportunities, whether through refocusing teaching materials and courses that already exist but which might have suffered ’scope creep’, or through extending previously narrowly defined courses to reflect the broad scope of the 6 Knowledge domains that the CIQP(sm) covers.
For people already covering all the bases listed in the knowledge domains, perhaps there is limited range of new opportunities. However, being able to link their course work to a larger, industry wide and practitioner developed certification program certainly can’t hurt when it comes to marketing their course.
Overall though, I think that the big opportunity is the one that is presented to the profession as a whole. The opportunity to benchmark ourselves against our peers and structure our career development and learning better.
